Description:
WELLINGTON KS May 2 1982 -- Santa Fe SD55u 5304 leaves the Wellington grain elevators in the distance as it traverses south-central Kansas on the transcon. This locomotive was built by EMD in December 1966 as no. 1865. It was renumbered to 5565 in 1970. It was rebuilt in July 1981 and renumbered to 5304. Santa Fe retired the unit in February 1993.
