Description:
Chkcago Burlington & Quincy Railroad 4-8-4 Class O-5-A 5617 at Lincoln, Nebraska on June 29, 1948, photographer unknown, print by Don Gruber, Chuck Zeiler collection. Number 5617 was assembmed by the CB&Q at West Burlington, Iowa, completed September 23, 1937, using components supplied by various manufacturers (boiler by Baldwin). The locomotive was condemned on March 30, 1860, sold for scrap in September 1960 without tender to Chicago Coupler Sales Company, the tender was sold to Northwestern Steel and Wire Company.

Number 5617 was assembled by the CB&Q at West Burlington, Iowa, completed September 23, 1937, using components supplied by various manufacturers ( boiler by Baldwin ). The locomotive was condemned on March 30, 1960, sold for scrap in September 1960 without tender to Chicago Coupler Sales Company, the tender was sold to Northwestern Steel and Wire Company.
