Title:
SLSF 4-6-0 #713 - St Louis-San Francisco (Frisco)
Description:
Besides a GP38 wearing the number "713", this Alco-Brooks 4-6-0 ten wheeler did at a much earlier date. The loco was built in June of 1906. A note on the back states "dead in train" so much be in route to the Frisco shops as dead weight of a steam loco was not done very often by railroads. The locos in this 695 class were superheated by the Frisco shops and lasted into the late 1940's and early 1950's before retirement. Charles E. Winters photo
