Description:
Here is page two of a two-page article entitled "Antique Special." It was published originally in the January-February 1961 issue of "Pennsy" magazine, page 21. Top Left Photo Caption: "C.E. Gaugler oils D16sb steam engine built at Juniata Shop, Altoona, in 1905." Pennsylvania Railroad engine #1223 is a D-16SB (4-4-0) "American" built in Juniata during November of 1905 and presently on display at the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania in Strasburg. Also depicted are Strasburg Rail Road 0-6-0 switcher #31 and the Cumberland Valley Railroad's "Pioneer."
