Byerly. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide via Fred Byerly that was taken in East St. Louis, Missouri, c. 1969. The photographer is not identified. Photo Caption: "EMD E-8A #4274, 2250-hp, at East St. Louis, Mo." Shown here (R to L) are Penn Central Railroad engines #4274 and #4314. Both are E8A's built by GM-EMD and rated at 2,250 horsepower each. #4274 was built as PRR number "5704" in September of 1952, while #4314 was built as PRR number "5714" in November of 1952. This photo comes from a color slide set entitled "Diesels On The Pennsylvania" that's produced and distributed by Blackhawk Films of Davenport, Iowa (819-47).
