PRR 1750, E-5S, c. 1947
Description:
Portraits 4. Here is a steam locomotive portrait of Pennsylvania Railroad engine #1750, an E-5S (4-4-2) "Atlantic" built in Juniata as an E-5 during March of 1910, rebuilt as an E-5S in November of 1913, and retired in October of 1948 after 38 years of faithful service. Note that the bell, smokebox keystone, and main driving rods have been removed in preparation for scrapping. The photographer's name, the exact date, and the location are not recorded. (#12 of 40)
