PRR 7213, EFS-17M, 1966 |
Description: |
Winter Night. Here is an original time-exposure telephoto view that I took in Altoona, Pennsylvania, in February of 1966. Partially visible here (L to R) are Pennsylvania Railroad engines #7213 and #6515. #7213 is an EFS-17M built by GM-EMD in November of 1957 and rated at 1,750 horsepower. It's being uncoupled from a cabin car and will pull away in a moment or two. #6515 is a GF-25A built by General Electric in December of 1965 and rated at 2,500 horsepower. It's parked in the Westbound Forwarding Yard, awaiting a crew and orders to pull its mixed-cargo freight train up the Allegheny Mountains to Gallitzin and points West. Photo taken from the 4th Street Bridge. |
